Ducking runs on cheap things bought in bulk. Here is what actually gets used, what it costs, and the two or three things worth skipping.

Ducks To Leave

Bought by the bag. Nobody wants the one you were given back.

Rubber Ducks, Bulk Bag

The default buy, and the only one most people need. Fifty plain yellow ducks costs about what ten themed ones do, and the plain one on a stranger's hood lands exactly as well.

Two inches instead of three. Worth it for one reason: a hundred of them fit in a glovebox, so you are never out when you park next to something worth ducking.

Themed And Costume Ducks

Firefighter, astronaut, pirate. These are the ones that end up photographed and named. Buy a handful for rigs that deserve something specific, not a bag of them to hand out at random.

Camo And Off-Road Ducks

On-theme for the crowd that gets ducked. Genuinely harder to find than the listings suggest, and a lot of results are one plain duck at a themed price. Check the photo, not the title.

Tags And Notes

The tag is the part people keep. Duckr exists because of what is written on it.

Blank Duck Tags

Pre-printed "You have been ducked" tags with a blank line. Cheap, and the blank line is the whole point — a tag with a name on it gets kept, an anonymous one gets thrown out.

Laminating Pouches

If you write your own tags, laminate them. A paper tag on a windshield in a rainstorm is gone, and so is the only part of the duck anyone would have remembered.

Hole Punch And Zip Ties

Boring, and the two things people forget. Four-inch ties are the right length for a mirror or a door handle; anything longer flaps and gets cut off by an annoyed owner.

Bag the duck with its tag before you leave it. Keeps the tag dry and stops the whole thing blowing off a hood in a parking lot, which is the most common way a duck never lands.

Keeping Them On The Dash

A duck that slides into the defroster vent at the first turn is a duck you lose.

Non-Slip Dash Mat

The cheapest fix and the one to try first. A sticky silicone pad holds a row of ducks through everything short of a trail, and it lifts off without marking the dash.

What people actually use once the mat stops being enough. A pea of it under each duck. Removable, does not stain, and it is the same stuff used to keep pottery on shelves in earthquake country.

Adhesive Dash Shelf

Skip this unless the collection has genuinely outgrown the dash. Most of them are held on with foam tape that either fails in summer heat or takes the dash finish with it.

When The Dash Is Full

It happens faster than people expect.

Display Case With Compartments

A figure case with a clear front. Sized for miniatures, which happens to be exactly duck-sized, and it keeps the dust off the ones with fabric or paint.

Clear Stacking Bins

The unglamorous honest answer for a big collection. Clear so you can see what is in them, stacking so the pile does not spread. Photograph each duck in Duckr first and the bin stops mattering.

Battery Shelf Lights

Only if the case is somewhere dark. Stick-on pucks, not a wired strip — the strip means an outlet behind the shelf, which is never where the shelf is.

Why every link is a search, not a product. Novelty ducks are unbranded and the listings churn constantly — the same bag has five sellers and last month's link is this month's 404. A search still finds the thing a year from now.
